Step-by-Step Instructions on how to search for specific coupons in Enlightened Shopping:

1) From any page on the site, click the grey icon in the middle of the top row of the Hub that has a picture of a scissors. 5-Search Coupons.png
2) In the "Which City" drop-down list on the left, if you are near one of the cities, click on that city. If not, don't choose any and it will search "All" .
3) There are many different ways you can search for coupons

a) Search for a particular brand. The most common way is to search by product name. Type the name of the items you are looking for in the "Search for a particular brand?" Box.

Tips:

1. You can search by product name or product type. i.e. let’s say you were looking for Paper Towels but you only wanted Bounty. Type Bounty in the search box. But if you don’t care what brand you buy and are just looking for the best deal, type Paper Towel (singular) in the search box. Note: Toilet Paper is listed as Bath Tissue, not Toilet Paper.

2. All products are entered in the database w/o any punctuation so if you are searching for something like Kellogg’s, enter Kellogg or Kelloggs, not Kellogg’s.

3. When searching for a particular product it’s best to use fewer words. The more specific, the better. If you string words together and they are not in that exact same order in the database, the item won’t come up. i.e. let’s say you want to find coupons for Kellogg’s Special K Cereal. If you type all the words it that order, nothing will come up because it is listed in the database as Kelloggs Cereal Special K (no apostrople, and the word Cereal is in the middle). So the best way to find it would be to just type Special K. If you are interested in all kinds of Kellogg’s cereals, type just Kellogg or Kelloggs. If you are looking for coupons for any kind of cereal, just type Cereal.

b) Search coupon details. Let’s say you wanted to know what coupons are currently available to print from SavingsAngel Coupons.com. You can type SavingsAngel Coupons.com in the Search coupon details box and it will pull up all the coupons currently on SavingsAngel Coupons.com. Or let’s say you wanted to know all the $2 coupons that were available so you could look for the best deals when Kmart had double coupons up to and including $2. You can type $2 in the Search coupon details box.

c) Search coupon location. If you want to know what coupons are in a particular insert, use the Search coupon location box. This is a great way to find out if an older insert has any coupons in it that haven’t expired yet so you can clean out your files. i.e. type RP 5/10 and it will pull up all the non-expired coupons in the Red Plum insert from May 10. Note: be sure to type the insert name in the exact same way it is in the database. Remember that on some weeks, we get more than one SmartSource or more than one Red Plum insert. When that happens, they include the name of the product on the cover as part of the insert name. So if you were looking for coupons in SS 8/2, you need to type in either SS Kens 8/2 or SS Sears 8/2. You could also type just 8/2 but then you will get all the coupons from all the inserts that week. That’s a good place to start though if you don’t know what was on the cover. All of the coupons from 8/2 will come up so you can see what the insert names were. Then you can type just one insert name to narrow it down.

d) Search coupon URL. This is the field that includes links for all the printable coupons that are in the database. If you are looking for coupons from a particular site, you can type that name. If you type .com, it will pull up ALL the printable coupons that are in the database.  Alternately, if you are looking for just Internet Printable coupons, you can check the box "Search ONLY Internet Coupons"? Pretty cool, huh!
